URGENT REFERRALS
Please call the rooms on 07 3163 7820 and advise our staff of the urgent nature of the referral. We will always ensure the referred patient is seen in a timely manner. Referrals are accepted through Medical Objects or via email to: admin@materhillgastro.com.au but request that your receptionist phones our staff to notify them on urgent referrals.
Our doctors are happy to take calls from referring doctors to discuss clinical cases and arrange urgent appointments or hospital admissions and can be contacted directly through the Mater Private Hospital switchboard on 07 3163 8111

Online Referral form
Thank you for referring your patient to MHG. As well as Medical objects or email, you have the option to complete the online form below or print and send the PDF version. Once we receive the referral and it has been triaged, our administrative team will contact the patient to schedule an appointment within one to two business days.

DIRECT Access Criteria
A patient may qualify for a direct access procedure via a phone appointment with the practice nurse. If the following criteria is met, this can be scheduled at least one week before the procedure. Otherwise, a consultation with a gastroenterologist is required.
Age <74
BMI <35
Minimal comorbidities ( i.e.. no cardiovascular, respiratory, or diabetic issues )
No anticoagulation - warfarin, clopidogrel, fish oil
No prior anaesthetic issues
Please note: direct access patients will be required to attend a nurse led information session regarding the procedure and bowel preparation required. If any issues are identified then the patient will be required to have a consultation with a gastroenterologist.
